For the children to improve their keyboarding skills it is important for them to practice at home. They can practice keyboarding by writing a letter to a family member of friend on the computer. You can even cover their fingers as they get older because they should know most of the keys. There are also games on the Internet that they can play.

Typefaster is the program we use at school with the third and fourth grades. There is a free download available if you would like your child to practice the same program at home that we use in school.
By third grade the children are familiar with Word Art and other graphics on the computer. Encourage them to draw a picture for you and write a story about the picture.
